Shahar Ilan apparently believes that holding IDF officers and soldiers accountable for their actions is a bad thing. He repeats the mantra, heard again and again from elements on the right, that if we are only allowed the freedom to use overwhelming force, "victory" will be ours, and nobody can question how that victory is achieved. The fact that Israel has been fighting wars with increasing frequency and civilian deaths (on both sides) does not seem to register. Oh, and the part about "we accept the claim that firing thousands of Qassam rockets on their heads is not a war crime, but our operation is?" If Israel ends up acknowledging that it made mistakes in the conduct of the war, that does not justify the rockets being fired from Gaza. Sadly, Shahar seems unable to view the world in hues other than black and white.
