Several issues stand in the way of an agreement, including Turkish demands of unfettered access to the Gaza Strip, and Hamas activity in Turkey.17:16 11.02.16 | 0 comments
he always says what each side wants him to say... and then says a few things each side would rather not hear...which I guess is fair... demilitarized pal state was good. Israel as a jewish state was good. Israeli security for israel a must was good. (how to achieve that is anyone's guess) 1967 borders, with some swaps is I guess ok, in principle(even though abbas has rejected this), but the devil is in the details ....I heard nothing on the refugeees and nothing about jerusalem. He was somewhat vague about hezbollah, and hamas...he was equally vague about the possibility of defending israel should a massive war erupt, other than to say, israel can defend herself...which in political parlance, could be perceived as abdicating his responsibility to defend his ally should the need arise...having said that, israelis have always wished to defend themselves and have NEVER ONCE asked for US boots on the ground. All in all, not bad.
