Saad Hariri was no fool by calling Hisbollah's bluff and asking that the 'evidence' be turned over to the UN investigation. All Hizbollah has shown is that there might have been a slightly higher Israeli interest in events in Beirut the day of the assassination. The implication of such an interest is not that Israel was in control of events - for were that case every effort would probably be made to not tip off others by changes in patterns of intelligence gathering - but that Israel did not know what was going down and was trying to find out. Saad Hariri has welcomed the chance to hand Hizbollah the rope with which to hang itself.
