There is a great fascination for old tradition throughout the Arab world and it reaches fever pitch during the holy month of Ramadan. The Arabs are aware of how rich their culture is and can always fall back on history to invoke stories of past glories. Part of the problem in the Arab world today is this feeling of alienation. The Arabs don?t want to ditch their traditions and they don?t particularly see Western values as superior to their own. If anything it?s the other way around. They see themselves as very much above other nations culturally at least therefore they don?t understand why they haven?t been able to realize their aspiration. They tend to blame the West but mostly blame their own inept leaders who happened to be Western puppets.
