My friend has just come back from North Korea (he's British), and from his reports and Photos, Israel's nowhere near that vile, bestial regime. In Israel, we do not have a head of state who is "President for Life" even after he's dead; we don't have malnutrion to the degree that we have the most physically stunted population on earth; passers by do not have to bow down to pictures or statues of Ben Gurion; we have the internet and television stations around the world; we don't have gulags; disabled children are looked after - not shut up in institutions; people are allowed to say "I hate the government" without fear of summary execution.......need I go on? The decision not to allow Noam Chomsky into Israeli controlled territory may not have been one I agreed with, but there are arguments against allowing him in (not conducive to public order). That certainly is not a North Korean-style action.....
