1. For everyone talking about illegal occupation, land grab etc., most Israelis would like nothing more than to leave the west bank (see gaza as an example). How did the occupation get started in the first place? Israel was attacked by 5 Arab countries which if victorious would not have 'occupied' Israel, they would have killed/driven out the Jews and annexed it. You cant say Israel wants land because they never asked for the war or the occupation. Now, since youre all high on morals, morally, it would be wrong to reward the aggressor. What would have stopped the Arabs from again attacking if there are no repercussions for aggression? 2. Has any of you ever actually been to the 'occupied territories"? I have, the security measures and lack of privacy are the same on both sides - go to the central bus station in Tel Aviv and you're subject to the exact types of searches as at a check point in Jericho. Why are these always presented as only something Arabs have to deal with? Seriously, do you think Israel is willing to sacrifice much of its own prosperity for 2 miles of land that is the West Bank? That Israel's 'occupation' of these 2 miles are the barrier to peace? The truly sad thing is the effect that the conflict has on both sides - an ideal peace would be prosperous for both sides, but the Arabs dont want to prosper - they want to destroy.
