First of all, Jews were not "living in Israel prior to the rise of the zionist movement", because Israel did not exist before the rise of the zionist movement. Second, Jews were a tiny minority in all Palestine until the first massive waves of European immigrants in the late 19th century. Third, Palestinians are descendants of people who have always resided in Palestine. The story about Arabs arriving from all corners attracted by the Jewish industriousness is a hoax debunked by Israeli historians long ago. And third, only because other peoples had the misfortune to have their rights trampled upon by repressive regimes (the Soviets in Eastern Europe), it does not mean that Palestinians have to give up their rights to their homeland.
