The author presents speculation and decides that is the truth. Well, speculation is not the truth. The truth is that Jews were living in Israel prior to the rise of the zionist movement and were already a majority in Jerusalem in 1900 and a large minority in several other cities. Both Jews and Arabs immigrated to Israel before 1947--the Arabs came from adjacent countries in search of economic opportunity and the Jews for a variety of reasons. And it was the Arabs who chose the path of war and must bear the consequences of that action. In addition, why should the Arabs be exempt from history. During the 1940s there were many millions of refugees--for example 2 million Germans were expelled from neighboring countries--these refugees settled and moved on. Only the Palestinians are living in the past. And as long as they live in the past, they will not have a future. Writers like this do the Palestinians a disservice--by encouraging them to dwell on their fantasies.
