Thankfully we don't have Dan Halutz and how well Gantz will have to prove if he is is up to the task but if he can't deliver the goods we can feel safe in the knowledge that Amir Oren will always be there to step in and save the IDF. He may not have been the first choice but he is all there is and we will see how he does. As for Liberman somebody needs to remind him that right now as long as he doesn't rock the boat then thanks to Barak pulling out of Labor this government has the potential to survive another 2 years. If he brings down the government there is no way to be sure how well he will do and if Livni won the election she would form a coalition with the arab parties before she would invite him into her coalition.
