Thank you, Ehud. From the most basic details (we issue Arab Israeli citizens ID cards that are a different color than Jewish Israeli IDs) to the biggest citizenship issues (keeping them under surveillance and preventing visits from their West Bank family members), we've sent a clear message to Arab Israelis that they are second-class citizens. It's no wonder they're not in the mood to celebrate. If we must have two states, fine. But I hope for a single state, with a secular democratic government and religious freedom for all. That is the way to give glory to G-d. Continued occupation (in the West Bank) and suspicion of non-Jews (in Israel) not only turns people against us, it turns people against G-d. "When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not wrong him. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as one of your citizens; you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I the Lord am your G-d." Leviticus 19:33 (JPS)
