    There was no mention - none whatsoever - of a "Jewish state" in either the Balfour Declaration, the San Remo Declaration, the text of the Mandate for Palestine, nor anywhere within the UN Charter. There was only this (undefined) thing called the "Jewish national home", and whatever it was it was to be "in Palestine", it was not "of Palestine".
