The last armed conflict ended in 1973, and it was ended by both sides agreeing with a UN-mediated ceasefire. Friendly reminder: the very concept of "a state of war" became obsolete when the "formal declaration of war" became prohibited by Article 2(4) of the UN Charter. There is now only "armed conflict", and that is an entirely fact-based construct requiring no formal declarations by any party. Didn't you know that?
