Of course Israel was behind it, and while I agree that Syria and Iran should not have WMDs, neither should Israel: this part of the world should be free of WMDs. Seems only Israel is rejecting this sane proposal, and while the country has legitimate security concerns, there is no reason to discard this brilliant initiative in the first place; negotiate the renouncement of WMDs within a framework that incorporates Israel's security. Another unwise move from an increasingly defiant and stubborn country.
