Same old story. The new Israeli government comes to the table demanding negotiation "without preconditions", after trying to set a whole bunch of preconditions of its own. Then it ignores past agreements and forces the Palestinian negotiators to extract any terms that won't benefit Israel the hard way all over again. It's a very ineffective way of coming to a deal, but good as stalling tactics. Meanwhile, the Israeli government establishes "facts on the ground" by creating more Jewish settlements in the West Bank and working on the seperation fence. The settlers intimidate Palestinian farmers and destroy their olive trees, often with the IDF's protection. A compromise becomes less likely.
