But if Abu Mazen was a real leader this is how it would play out: 1) Israel make real consessions in the WB, with the exception of the Temple mount and the Settlers. 2) A stateworthy Pali Government HAS to be able to gurantee those settlers who choose to stay, they in turn to abide by Palestinian law and be disarmed. 3) Peace in the WB means prosperity for the Palis. And will give any real palestinian leader all the chance in the world to win over the Gazans. Dealing with Hamas is however pointless as any truce will be only used for them to rearm and then on for the next round of killings. Amoz Oz is a fantastic writer but he should not dabble in politics.
