This article describes what's sad about working as a diplomat for any Western country, not just Israel. Can anyone name a Western country where international agreements affecting national security are negotiated by career diplomats? Give me a break. Another one of a series of Haaretz pieces in which some more or less universal malady is framed as being uniquely Israeli. Myopic, not insightful. Sorry.
