What Wallenberg did was a good thing that needs to be remembered and applauded. But it was nothing to do with Australia. He wasn't Australian. The people he saved weren't. It didn't happen in Australia. And Australians weren't asked if they wanted to give him honorary citizenship. The first we knew about it was it happening. This is just a government and a Prime Minister wanting an opportunity to kiss up to the Jewish Lobby. Its just them saying that while they had to publicly criticise Israel over the Ben Zygier affair they want Israel and the rich Australian Jews who contribute so many dollars to their party to get the message that behind closed doors the Australian government position towards Israel and Israel's powerful American friends remains one of total subservience.
