The major cause of inequality is political----those who wield power control the flow and direction of what is produced in the form of goods and services as well as who acquires what, how much, when, etc. If the family becomes the focal point of economic, social, political and religious values then the maxim is: What is good for the family is good for the nation---not what is good for GM, BP, Walmart, etc., is good for the nation. Families need what is necessary for the maturation of their members---parents and children. Education begins at birth and ends at the grave---that makes education, a function of maturation, is a life-long process. Corporations, educational institutions need to shape what they do to the the long term needs of families. Class is a function of the advantage one group of families has to accumulate goods, services and access to education over others. The health of a nation is the health of the sum of its families. A healthy family contributes to the social well being of all citizens within a political community.
