Abbas and Fayyad are correct. It must be a permanent agreement resulting in a contiguous, viable Palestinian nation-state. There cannot be the threat of arbitrary Israeli invasion for "security" purposes. The Saudi 2002 plan for Middle East peace provides a solid foundation. Israeli settlers incite violence and must leave Palestine. Otherwise Israel will use contrived threats against settlers to invade Palestine. Peace can only come with the restoration of 1967 borders and honoring the right of return or compensation for land that has been confiscated by Israel.
