If Israel makes a nuclear first strike it will suffer the consequences even if it doesn't get nuked. I agree that Netanyahu, Lieberman and Barak are not 'responsible' but they do wish to be here tomorrow and in control of Israel. Israel's bomb was a positive force in that it stabilized the region. All have understood that to try and expunge Israel would be a fatal move and no one has made it. The contrary was also true. Being a nuclear power forces immense restraint upon a power.
