Just as there are Israelis who favor peace, those who think it prudent to discuss peace, and Israelis who wish no talk of peace, there are Israelis who favor pretending to talk while sabotaging any possibility of peace. It is this later group whom are represented by Ehud Olmert. Can it be said that Olmert could make a peace as the representative of Israel? Not with the miniscule support of a minority only. Could Abbas, as well intentioned as he is speak for most Palestinians? Of course not. There is a de facto civil war in Palestine, though the level of violence is low at the moment.
