This past year, we witnessed the Palestinian terrorist groups using children this age... and younger, as suicide bombers. Such actions are the real inhumanity. The fact remains that Ms. Hass' discussion of IDF practices took place in an Israeli hospital with Israeli doctors trying to obtain the best care for what was likely an enemy combatant. I'm not sure where sadism comes into play here. It's not like the child was being tortured, just restrained, all while receiving medical care for his wounds. Apparently your schooling was lacking given that you cannot discern the difference between modern medical care and sadistic practices. At that point, he's not "just a kid".
