I was at the UN when partition of the remaining part of the Palestinian Mandate was approved. The Jews -- Israel had not yet declared itself a state -- accepted the partition. The Arab nations, who then were not a majority in the UN, all denounced it with some of the delegates -- as I recall the one from Saudi Arabia -- vowing to drive the Jews into the sea. Please do not rewrite history.
