Without workers of all kinds there is no capital accumulation and no capitalists. It is also a fact that without commerce and consumption there is neither labor nor capital. So, who are the Thatchers of this world? They are the privatizers who exploit the common wealth of a community to fatten their bank accounts at the expense of labor (depressing wages) and consumers (hiking prices). They exploit natural resources at home and abroad as well as the funds of education, health services, and social services of the nation. Then they complain about the unemployed, the disadvantaged---the victims of the privatization process. Of course when the privatizers find their backs to the wall, they demand that the government shift the cost of their failed capital adventures to those whom they have been exploiting. Thatcher launched an assault on labor and the commonwealth that stretched across the Atlantic to Washington leading to the economic turmoil Brits, Americans and the EU are experiencing today.
