The 29 November decision was a decision giving sovereignty to two peoples in their joint homeland. Annapolis is supposed to be the materialize the Arab half of the Partition plan, and it should be seen as joyous that just like Jews received their sovereignty, Arabs are about to receive their sovereignty. The sad fact is that Arabs are not joyous that Jews received their sovereignty. The Arabs are not willing to be a semi autonomous autonomy in a Jewish state. They want to dominate the whole state. They want to neutralize the proud strident unabashedly Jewish character of the state. It is this irridentist fear that makes us think twice if a Palestinian state is the proper solution for the Arabs of the West Bank and Gaza. Maybe we should wait for Jordanian-Egyptian option.
