It is not true that "a consensus exists among both advocates and opponents that circumcision does reduce the risk of contracting [HIV/AIDS]" There are many problems with the trials on which that claim is based - not placebo controlled or double-blinded, many more lost from study, their HIV status unknown, than known to be infected, No contact tracing, hence no certainty it was (hetero)sexually acquired. If circumcision is so good against HIV, why is the rate in Israel as high as or higher than many non-circumcising countries?
