No wonder the Judges of the Supreme Court are nervous. In a true democratic state none would have been chosen for the job. In Israel, the Justices pick their own successors, with no input from the elected representatives of the people. Since 1977, the Right has been the majority in the Knesset, the so the autocratic Left in Israel, represented by MERETZ and LABOR, saw to it that the powers of the Knesset were usurped by the unelected Supreme Court which is dominated by the far Left. The people of Israel now insist this perverted situation be ended. As much as I despise Olmert, I must give him credit for appointing the new Justice Minister Friedman who is moving in the right direction.
