Dear Haaretz: I'm an American and outraged at Israel's decision to announce their plans to build more housing overlapping American VP Joe Biden's visit. The Israeli government knew that this would make headlines...and outrage not only the Obama Administration, but average Americans, like me. It is indeed a "slap in the face" of America, our President and Vice President...a "slap in the face" of the American people who have always supported Israel. There's truism that Christians (like me) must first think as a Jew in order to fully appreciate their Christian religion. I believe that this is true. And, I have always been a supporter of Israel, it's culture and history. However, yesterday's "slap" makes it terribly difficult to relate to Israel positively. Why did Israel's government do this? I'd like an answer.
