While I realize that this piece is an analysis of the past two years as they concern the "Arab awakening," I get the general impression that the author is telling us not to worry about our hostile neighbors so much as they are otherwise engaged. He hardly touched on an issue that will engage Israel in a more dangerous fashion than all of its other problems combined. The decision to expand the building of settlements in key western territories will continue to grow as an isolating catalyst. When Russia, the EU, and the US all agree on an issue against Israel, it is time for new decisions.
