Maybe Mr Levy should have waited a few more hours before his rant. This morning, we read that one of his fellow justices DID defend Joubran. Levy wants it both ways, as usual: Israel is racist, so even having an Arab on the court is a "fig leaf"; had there not been an Arab on the court that would also have been fodder for Levy's preconceived thesis. The issue of singing Hatiqva is complex. Many national anthems do not speak for all citizens. High officials may be held to a different "patriotic" standard. Not singing may be different from not being respectful. Maybe it's different from a policeman not saluting. Where is the line drawn? Even Mr Levy cannot have a perfect answer.
