If find it unsurprising that Netanyahu thinks he is a master of public diplomancy. Aside from being egotistial, he apparently equates loquaciousness and being articulate with being effective. The reality is that if you do not come across as being genuine, having good and wise judgement and being direct, no one is convinced by the fancy linguistic footwork. There may be cultural and language elemenst to the differential way in Israelis and the world looks at Netanyahu. While I do not disagree with all his views, far from it, I wish he would keep his mouth shut and let someone who is and comes across as genuine speak for Israel. I have rarely seen such a gulf between self perception and broad public perception .... even, in the case of the public, who are supporters of Israel.
