A major offensive into Gaza would cost, not only many Palestinian lives, but also many Israeli lives, because the rocket barrage would be horrible. We know that Gazans have a large supply of rockets and that all our efforts to stop the movement of arms into Gaza have not been successful, so we need to change our politics. Why is it so impossible to talk with Hamas directly? The whole thing is a farce. Talking is always better than killing.
