Since the terms "neocon" seems to be thrown around a lot, especially by the "progressive" left as a pejorative term of drision and scorn, I though we should remind ourselves where and how the term originated. It started in 1960's and 70's with a number of leftists who realized that the Soviet Union is truly "an evil empire" and that freddom does matter. Interestingly, the most prominet "neocons" at that time were the democratic senators "Scoop" Jackson and Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Some Jewish intellectulas jined in as well, most notably Norman Podhoretz of "commentary" but it was far from being a "Jewish conspiracy" or a "Jewish cabal". I sugest that those who want to learn a bit more about this term and the movement it represents, sepnd a few minutes reading about it on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservative)
