If you want the UN declared borders of 1948 then your not even going to have talks. The border of 1948 gave the arabs 45% of mandate Palestine along with Jaffa as an autonumus zone minus Jerusalem and 55% to the jews the rest minus Jerusalem and Jaffa. By the time the war ended in 1949 Israel has 78% of mandate Palestine + west Jerusalem Egypt had Gaza and Jordan got Judea & Samaria and east Jerusalem. Judea, Samaria and Gaza are the remaning 22% of mandate Palestine that Israel didn't capture in 1948/49. Can you seriously imagine Israel giving the palestinians anything more than 22%. Oslo was signed 17 years ago this month and we haven't been able to reach an agreement on 22% you think we can suddenly reach an agreement whereby Israel gives away 45% + Jaffa to the arabs? It would be a non starter. Resolution 181 its never going to be implimennted as was originally planned when the UN voted on partition in 1947 the same way there is never going to be a right of return.
