I made alliyah using the Jewish Agency. The paperwork alone took the better part of a year despite the fact I had more information they could possibly need and were never happy and kept asking for more and more paperwork including passports going back to when I was a child. When the day finally came I was met at the airport by a Jewish Agency representative who put me into a taxi to the merkaz klita where I was going to be living and I never heard from them again. I have a friend who made alliyah 2-3 years after me and he came with Nefesh they gave him thousands of Pounds, they looked after him & the others who came with him from start - finish and sorted out in advance paperwork like gettng a tudat zahut. I had to go to the Nefesh offices in Jerusalem once and there was a group of new olin there, there was a party for themwith cakes & all, there was a presentation celebration to give them all their tudat zahut. Nefesh have a website and they offer a range of information, will answer specific questions if you email and ask them anything you need to know. The Jewish Agency is a relic from another era and the only thing they do well these days is mass airlifts for the average olleh Nefesh are the future.
