Nazis were atheists. They considered any christian church and their followers were impediments to Nazi ideologies. Please note that uncountable number of Nazi dissidents, the German christians/catholics were murdered and no one dared to keep a head count of them except when they were social celebrities. Nazis were also commiting genocide of the Roma people, gays, Russian prisoners. Popes had become irrelevant after world war I- no one listened when Benedict XV was crying out loud to stop world war I by many christian nations. It is very likely that Hitler would have destroyed the german catholic church, the pope and Vatican (through Hitler's friend Mussolini) if Pius XII had directly confronted the Nazis with his words. It is concerning that some people still believe that Nazis were catholics!?
