You have an interesting case of narrow nationalisms here, unfortunately so common here in Israel. Only Jews should remember the Holocaust, only Armenians should remember their genocide, etc? Each people to themselves, with their own stories forever theirs and no one elses'. Right? Let me give you my western european take on this: For me the Shoah is not just "part of the eternal suffering of the jews in the galut". It is first of all an eternal reminder of what ugly narrow minded nationalism can lead too. What can happen when you start dividing the world and humanity into "us" and "them".
