I agree with many other comments, that at the moment there is a widespread separation between the meaning of words "Jew" and "Israeli". This reflects the vast separations in world-wide Jewry, and even within the society living in Israel. Unfortunately we have lost the core values of national unity and mutual guarantee, the not necessarily religious meaning of "love your neighbor as yourself", the values that made Abraham and his followers separate from the rest of the people, and on which values the nation was established later around Mount Sinai. Israel as a country and Jews in general cannot continue fighting against all odds on multiple fronts. Our only true protection is the return to our core values not only as traditions, or reading them from a book, but applying it to our everyday life. This is the only way of becoming "Light onto the Nations", providing a positive, unifying example in today's fragmented, crisis ravaged world searching for answers. Only then will the external threat and antisemitism vanish, and only then will we be able to settle in the world among other nations.
