When I visited the western wall on a Saturday about a month ago, the security men at the entrance were Arabs (probably Druzs or Beduins who served in the IDF). I asked them something about the houses near the western wall Plaza, and so one of them points at the Jewish quarter and says - you see this place, 50 years ago it was all Arab. I asked him what he meant since it's the Jewish quarter. He waved his hand and said confidently, it was all Arab. I told him, maybe you mean it was Arab from 1948 to 1967 when the Jordanians conquered the Jewish quarter and burnt it down and turned the synagogues into stables, so his friend (also an Arab) told him in a cynical way - leave her, she's right. As if what I said was complete nonsense. So according to Arab Israelis (who I assume served in the army otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to work as guards) the Jewish quarter was never Jewish. So these are the people we're dealing with. Truth and historic knowledge are not their strongest characteristics.
