Obviously, Israel can not imitate any of its neighbors' democratic models, because it has no democratic neighbors. The nearest democratic state is Turkey. Israel is plotting a new course through uncharted areas in multiculturalism. As for the definition of subversion, that, like 'incitement' has always depended on the definitions of the current government. That is why Meir Kahane was kicked out of the Knesset for 'incitement' while Ahmed Tibi remains in the Knesset despite his own, just as bad or worse, incitement. That is how Arab MKs could go to Syria despite there being a law on the books prohibiting that. Israel must adopt an objective standard of 'treason' or 'subversion,' and 'incitement,' and make them just as illegal for both Israel's Arabs and Jews. And it must follow up with legal steps to stop such activities by anyone, and it must be consistent.
