i think you're misunderstanding him. he's one of those evangelicals... in fact he has spoken many times about how we must "protect israel" (so the apocalypse can come, of course). he's not as on-the-fringe as you suggest. the "burn a koran day" page on facebook has thousands of like-minded fans. this guy is a case study in a wide-spread islamophobia trend that seems to be setting in here in america. it's very interesting how there seems to be more hatred against muslims NOW than there was eight or nine years ago. i'd guess that the economy has something to do with it. everyone's looking for scapegoats.
