Howdy Nadav & Gabe 1; I don't think that is possible to abruptly terminate the UNRWA due to humanitarian reasons, but it should be phased out. The program was originally set up to help the 750,000 Palestinians refugees who for the most part voluntarily fled the fighting in 1948. Today, there are approximately 3.5 million so-called "Palestinian refugees" (about 0.5 million in the Palestinian Territories and 3 million in various Arab countries). The trouble is that over 85% of these so-called "refugees" are actually descendants of the original group and were born outside of the State of Israel and have never set foot there. With the sole exception of Jordan, the Palestinian refugees are denied citizenship in the countries in which they were born. It's hard to wean three generations of welfare junkies off the UN tit. They actually consider being taken care of by somebody else to be a "right". It's a hard habit to break.
