This incident is extreme, but it reminds me of one of my experience at the wall. Shabbat was coming, and my friends and I linked arms, jumped up and down (in the plaza section), and declared our sisterhood... Then an ultra-orthodox Jew ran up screaming that we desecrated the Kotel by "dancing." This, as dozens of Yeshivaniks were dancing past, doing much the same though much louder--dozens. It haunted me.
