Syria has plenty to worry about and it isn't Israel. Damascus is chummy with Tehran just as long as they can bluster about Israel, but no more than that. Damascus is uncomfortable with what's going on in Iraq....doesn't control Lebanon like in the "good old days".....doesn't control nasrallah at all, it's a marriage of convenience. At the end of the day assad has to worry about whether he'll live as long as his father, especially as he has been shunned by the Arab League and is on the outside looking in. won't be long before meshal will be invited to leave Damascus once Assad figures out a nice diplomatic exit.
