The US administration should be happy to see this report. Last I checked, the Egyptians aren't too happy with Mubarak, so the US being branded an enemy of Mubarak is helfpul to US interests. Particularly as some Obama critics had faulted Obama for not coming out more forcefully and quickly against Mubarak. Meanwhile, the Egyptian military is dependent on US aid, so I think that the US may yet have a strong role to play in Egypt in the future, hopefully guiding it towards democracy.
