..about several big things. It is true that some extreme right-wingers prefers to inflame and inflate in order to convince us all that the world hates us. But why do you stop at this station, Sir? There are more colours than black and white, you know. Among hard-core left-wing-activists in Europe your can hear more or less the same thing as was heard from Mustafa Barghoutis mouth: "Israel is the most despicable state in the world" (May 31st, 2010). In Europe you will also learn that Israel is a "terrorist state", that we have exactly like South Africa a system of "apartheid", and that we, the jews/israelis, now do to the palestinians, what the nazis did to us, that Gaza is a concentration camp. And so on. These are sentiments that go way beyond legitimate concerns and ciriticism regarding the occupation. And whenever these good-hearted activists expounds on the conflict, than nothing is said about the sins of the palestinians, but only Israel is to blame for everything. This too shows that there is more to it than just an argument about the legal issues (such as the settlements). And where are all these activists now, when people are slaughtered in the arab countries? Are there huge demonstrations in London, Stockholm and Berlin? No. But surely you have seen the wild passions and nazi-accusations in Europe whenever Israel is involved in military operations? Having said all this, I would like to reiterate that I´m a staunch center-leftist (a Rabin/Sharon/Olmert-guy, minus the corruption....) that wants reason to prevail, that we may negiotate and reach compromises that will give us all a strong and sustainable peace. Shalom 2 u.
