You don't build nations by political and diplomatic manoevers. You create a national political, social, economic, and intellectual culture. That takes longer than "Now". The Czechs didn't like the Habsburgs very well, but they knew who was "in charge". First they asked if they could praise the Emperor in thier own language, then applied for permission to publish a Czech-German dictionary, and over three centuries they had a national culture that was recognized by the rest of the world. That takes time, dude, but in a age everything "now". You end up spilling blood, and ink that poisons the wells, polluting the world with hate and prejudice.
