Thank God, the UN has openly and formally condemned the disease of anti-semitism and has set up A Holocaust memorial day. The world can never hear enough the cry of "Never Again"! But Moynihan was speaking in 1975. Today we are in 2005, soon to be 2006. Over 30 years have passed and Israel's occupation continues, not only continues but has been greatly expanded and entrenched. The condition of the palestinians has become moe dire in the intervening years and it is not solely due to Israel's security concerns. All of this too must be remembered and the fact that anti-semitism is still alive and well in the world, and exploited by many of Israel's enemies, should not deflect those of us from condeming that occupation as well as the anti-semitism that continues to infect many societies in the world today.
