I understand your distinction Mr. Ben Gurion. Not even Al Queada is 'anti-civilization' per se. They are anti-western civilization, especially anti-American; but they are not nihilists. It has been convenient for Dumbya and his gang to blur all terrorism into a single amorphous, and therefore malleable for propaganda purposes, threat. There is a hysteria here on the extreme right which holds that the US and the world is in danger of imminent conquest by a Caliphate. This is, of course, insane paranoia. If you cannot clearly identify and analyze your opponent and his goals, then your response is immediately impaired, and may well be counter productive. During the Kennedy administration, there was an inability to see that the National Liberation Front in South Vietnam was in fact motivated by, and related to, internal factors in Vietnam which had NOTHING to do with any vast International Communist Conspiracy. Thus our response made things worse and we did ourselves great harm.
