"I have to wonder whether `heckuvajob Brownie` is running Mossad these days because the idiocy and incompetence of this operation reminds me of FEMA during and after Katrina." If they say what the risks are and the boss says do it anyway, then they do it. They got it done on short notice with the materials they had on hand and nobody on their side got killed or captured. Imagine the conversation between the top Mossad guy and the political guy who gives them their orders. "We can do this and probably get all our people out, but we'll leave evidence behind. Give us a month and we can set it up better." "Would this evidence actually matter?" "Hard to say. We probably wouldn't have to retire any agents. But it might have diplomatic consequences." "OK. You take care of the agent stuff and I'll deal with the diplomatic stuff. The operation is on." No matter how competent they are they have to do what the political guys tell them to, to the best of their abilities.
